Today we are introducing our latest full stack developer superstar… Marley!

Marley recently joined Exo Digital in a graduate position.

Marley was in the travel and tourism industry for the past 7 and a half years. With COVID happening, things really changed for Marley. Unfortunately, the industry has come to a standstill. So Marley made the decision in March 2020 to start figuring out what her new passion will be.

Marley began by thinking about the parts of being a travel agent that she loved the most, which was building the itineraries, building peoples dream holidays! So Marley stepped away and really thought about the skills involved in that and why she enjoyed it, and from there she began to play around with coding in her spare time.

Marley really enjoyed it, and ended up doing a bootcamp course whilst working full time. As soon as the position at Exo became available, Marley jumped on board to get her foot in the door.

The course Marley took was 6 months long, and ended up calling herself a graduate again, after already having a career in another industry.

Marley jumped on the opportunity to learn from Exo, and finds the team here so lovely (naww shucks)!

At the moment, Marley is engaged in full-stack development, which means Marley gets to work with lots of different aspects of development.

Marley is working on a project called Streamgear, which involves Marley doing both the front and back end development work. Marley works in the server side part of the project with coding the functions, then builds out our design team's work on the front end of the piece which is what users will see.

Another part of Marley's role is client showcases. Marley was able to liaise with the client and the rest of the team to then get their feedback and make changes.

We’re so thrilled to have Marley on board, and we’re so excited to be part of Marley’s journey to pivot out of this pandemic.
